Paul and Barnabas: 21
Rev Robert Ampiah-Kwofi
The Messiah was not supposed to be a shock or surprise to the Jews who knew the predictions of the prophets. Every detail of the Messiah had been predicted by the prophets.
Luke 18:31 NKJV
“Then He took the twelve aside and said to them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of Man will be accomplished.”
Jesus said the Scriptures testify of Him.
John 5:39 NKJV
“You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.”
The prophets prophesied that Messiah would come from the tribe of Judah.
Micah 5:2 NKJV
“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, From everlasting.”
Jeremiah predicted Messiah would come from David’s lineage.
Jeremiah 23:5 NKJV
“Behold, the days are coming,” says the LORD, “That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; A King shall reign and prosper, And execute judgment and righteousness in the earth.”
This king from David’s lineage is the Messiah.
Jeremiah 23:6b NKJV
“Now this is His name by which He will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.”
Messiah is the Lion of the tribe of Judah.
Revelation 5:5 NKJV
“But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.”
May you see the revelation of the Scriptures about the Messiah. May you receive the blessings of the Messiah, in Jesus’s name.
