Morning Message of Motivation

Paul and Barnabas: 19
Rev Robert Ampiah-Kwofi

Paul’s fully recorded sermon had all the necessary tenets of the gospel. The gospel concerns man’s relationship with our Saviour Jesus Christ.
John 3:16 NKJV
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

Jesus Christ is the central message of the gospel. Paul began his sermon by tracing the history of Israel from their deliverance from Egypt up to king David.
Acts 13:22 NKJV
“And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.’”

Paul then speaks about how God raised Jesus Christ our Saviour from the lineage of David.
Acts 13:23 NKJV
“From this man’s seed, according to the promise, God raised up for Israel a Savior—Jesus—“

The gospel is actually the fulfilment of several promises and prophecies of God.
Acts 3:18 NKJV
“But those things which God foretold by the mouth of all His prophets, that the Christ would suffer, He has thus fulfilled.”

All the life and acts of Jesus Christ were done in fulfilment of prophecy.
The birth of Christ.
Matthew 1:18 NKJV
“Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.”

It was a fulfilment of prophecy.
Matthew 1:22 NKJV
“So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying:”

Isaiah prophesied a virgin would give birth.
Matthew 1:23 NKJV
“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”

May you have faith to receive the fulfilment of all the promises of God. May you know the truth that sets free, in Jesus’s name.
