The reign of Adam and Eves as the rulers of this earth was cut short by the trickery of an external force.
Genesis 3:1 NKJV
“Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”

The cunning serpent set out to overthrow God’s system of governing the earth by Adam.

The serpent knew that God had a covenant with Adam.

The serpent knew that Adam’s authority depended on his covenant with God.

The serpent knew that the covenant rested on Adam, not eating from the Tree of knowledge of good and evil.

The serpent knew that if Adam ate of the forbidden fruit, he would lose everything.

The serpent knew that he could not deceive Adam.
1 Timothy 2:14 NKJV:
“And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.”

The serpent knew that he stood a greater chance of success, if he worked on Eve.

Adam and Eve were living in the dispensation of innocence.
They had no knowledge of good and evil.
They were not aware that evil forces wanted to dethrone them, and steal their blessings.
John 10:10 NKJV
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

Unfortunately, innocent people often fall victim to the enemy because they are ignorant of his tricks.
2 Corinthians 2:11 NKJV
“Lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.”

Adam and Eve were ignorant of Satan’s tricks.

May the word of God dwell richly in you.
May you stay committed to God. May you overcome all the tricks of the enemy, in Jesus’ name.

God continued the lessons of the “Tree of the knowledge of good and evil.”
Genesis 2:16-17 NKJV
“And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

Adam had learnt that he had a free will to choose for himself. Adam had learnt that every choice he made had some consequences.

Third, the Law of Covenant
The “Tree of the knowledge of good and evil” was the symbol of God’s covenant with Adam.
Every relationship that God enters, is governed by a covenant.
A covenant is simply an agreement between two parties.
Each party swears to fulfill certain obligations to the other party of the covenant.
Adam’s part of the “Edenic covenant” was to obey God by not eating the forbidden fruit.
God’s Part was to continue to bless and support Adam.

Fourth, the Law of Self control
To refrain from doing something, requires self control and self discipline.
Adam would learn to impose restrictions on himself. He would have to resist curiosity. He would have to resist the temptation to find out what would happen if he ate the forbidden fruit.
1 Corinthians 9:27 NKJV
“But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.”

Fifth, the Law of faith
Adam had to learn to trust in God’s word.
Adam had to trust in God’s testimony about the tree.
Hebrews 11:6 NKJV
“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

Adam’s grasp of the five lessons of the “Tree of the knowledge of good and evil” would soon be put to the test by the serpent.

May you have a clear understanding of God’s word. May you have a victorious faith in God’s word.
May you pass all tests that come your way, in Jesus’ name.

The most significant events in Adam’s life were his introduction to the trees of the Garden of Eden and his marriage to Eve. Adam was ruler over all the earth. God gave him free access to all the trees in the Garden of Eden except one.
Genesis 2:16 NKJV
“And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat;”
There was one very important exception.
Genesis 2:17 NKJV
“But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

So far, Adam had just been receiving things from God.
Adam had received blessings, dominion, authority, a home and food.
Above all, God had given him a wife.
The fruit of the “Tree of the knowledge of good and evil” was the first and only thing that God had withheld from him.
The withholding of the fruit of the “Tree of the knowledge of good and evil” was deliberate.
Remember, it was God who planted the Tree of knowledge of good and evil.
God wanted to teach Adam some truths.

First, the Law of “Free Will.”
God was teaching Adam, that he had a free will.
He could choose to obey God or choose to disobey God. God would not force him.

Second, the Law of Consequences.
God was teaching Adam, the Law of sowing and reaping.
Galatians 6:7 NKJV
“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.”

Adam could sow the seed of obedience and reap the continual blessings of God, or he could chose to disobey, and reap death.
Galatians 6:8 NKJV
“For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.”

Adam was in charge of his own destiny.

May the blessings of God be maintained in your life, through your obedience.
May God’s Hand be upon you, to increase you on every side, in Jesus’ name.

God gave Adam a tour of the Garden of Eden, and also some final instructions.
Genesis 2:8-9 NKJV
“The Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed.”

Adam was safely living in his home.
God planted trees to meet every need of his life.
Genesis 2:9 NKJV
“And out of the ground the Lord God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.”

The trees that God planted were for beauty as well as nourishment of their bodies.
God loves beauty.
Only two trees are mentioned by name.
These two trees were not remarkable because of their beautiful flowers or sweet fruit. These two trees bore fruit that was spiritual in nature.
The first tree called the “Tree of Life” produced the fruit of immortality.
Genesis 3:22 NIV
“And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.”

Even after Adam and Eve fell into sin, God said the “Tree of Life” would still give them the power of immortality if they ate its fruit.

The second tree that God named was the “Tree of the knowledge of good and evil.”
The fruit of this tree was also spiritual in nature.
Eating it didn’t give energy or nutrients.
Eating it’s fruit gave knowledge of the distinction between good and evil.
God strictly forbade Adam from eating the fruit of that particular tree.
God gave Adam the right to eat of the Tree of Life. God was offering him the gift of immortality.

May you enjoy the blessings of eternal life that Jesus Christ provides.
May you have all you need for success and victory, in Jesus’ name.

Christ Jesus increased the authority and power He had vested into the lives of His seventy new recruits.
Luke 10:19 NKJV
“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

Jesus had given them power to heal before He sent them on their first missionary journey.
Luke 10:9 NKJV
“And heal the sick there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’”

After they returned with joy, Christ increased their authority and power.
The increase of their power, shows us that their ministry was not just a single mission.
Christ increased their power so that they could be more effective as they continued to minister in the towns and cities.
You can increase by following the same principles as the seventy disciples.

Law of Accountability
The Seventy returned to give a report of their ministry to the Master.

Law of Faithfulness and loyalty
The Seventy went to the towns Christ sent them to, and did exactly what Christ told them to do.
They triggered a cardinal law of increase.
Luke 16:10 NKJV
“He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much.”

Law of Selfless Service
Luke 16:12 NKJV
“And if you have not been faithful in what is another man’s, who will give you what is your own?”

Faithfulness in assisting and serving in something that concerns and benefits another person, is another cardinal law of increase.
If we only care for our self interest, we lose rather than gain.
Proverbs 11:24 ESV
“One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want.”

The Seventy served selflessly and prospered.

May you always triumph gloriously.
May you increase in power, wisdom and grace, in Jesus’ name.

The Believer has been given authority to rule in this life. The Believer is not supposed to be a victim of circumstances, or demonic forces.
Romans 5:17 NIV
“For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!”

Christ’s new breed of leaders are to reign in life through Jesus Christ. Believers will also exercise authority over demonic powers.
Matthew 10:1 NKJV
“And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.”

This authority extends to all Believers.
Mark 16:17 NKJV
“And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;”

Christ has delegated to all Believers the right to use His name to cast out devils. Satan must flee from the Believer.
James 4:7 KJV
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

Jesus gave His disciples power over the forces of darkness.
Luke 10:19 KJV
“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

You are more than a conqueror through Christ. May the hand of God be upon you to silence the enemy. May God empower you to succeed
In every thing you do, in Jesus’ name.

Jesus Christ has made us priests and kings unto the Lord our God.
Revelation 5:10 NKJV
“And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth.”

We shall reign on this earth. Jesus Christ came to raise a new breed of leaders.
Christ’s transformational leadership changes followers into leaders.
Mark 1:17 NKJV
“Then Jesus said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men.”

“Fishers of men” are those who lead other men out of darkness, bondage and sin into liberty, salvation and blessings.
Jesus described His followers in terms of leadership.
Matthew 5:14 NKJV
“You are the light of the world.
A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.”

To be the light of the world, is to be a leader, teacher and guide to the people of the world who dwell in ignorance and darkness.
Matthew 5:15 NKJV
“Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.”

Christ has positioned you in a place of prominence, so you can show the world the glory of God.
Matthew 5:16 NKJV
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Some good works that Christ’s followers must manifest for the world to give glory to God.
Integrity
The Believer must be honest and practice sound moral and ethical principles.
Love for the undeserving
The Believer must walk in love always to both friend and foe.
Matthew 5:44 NKJV
“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;”

Unity and love for all Believers
Our loving dealings with all Believers sends a clear message to the world.
John 13:35 KJV
“By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.”

You are the light of the world and the salt of the earth.
You are an anointed leader.
May God empower you to produce great excellence, in Jesus’ name.

Jesus Christ our Leader is a lifter of men.
He leads us to raise us into leadership.
John 12:32 NKJV
“And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.”

Christ was referring in this scripture to His being lifted up unto the cross.
John 12:33 NKJV
“This He said, signifying by what death He would die.”

Christ’s sacrificial death on the cross released mighty power to draw all men unto Himself.
Ephesians 1:19-20 NIV
“And his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms,”

The power that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at the Father’s right Hand is working on your behalf.
Christ’s purpose is to make Believers become kings and priests.
Revelation 1:5 NKJV
“And from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth.” To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood”

Our Lord Jesus has loved us and washed us in His blood to make us a royal priesthood.”
Revelation 1:6 NKJV
“And has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”

Jesus Christ has released His power to raise us from sin and shame to a position of grace, mercy and glory.
Ephesians 2:4-5 NKJV
“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)”

Christ Jesus has lifted us to sit together with Him in heavenly places.
Ephesians 2:6 NKJV
“And raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,”

You are lifted by the power of Jesus Christ.
You are seated together with Him in heavenly places.

May you use the authority Christ has given you to bring salvation, liberty and healing to many, in Jesus’ name.

Christ’s leadership is uncontested and undeniable. God the Father appointed Him as leader.
Philippians 2:9 NKJV
“Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,”

God gave Jesus the highest name and title.
Every creature must bow to Jesus.
Philippians 2:10-11 NKJV
“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

Lordship is leadership.
Jesus earned His exaltation by His absolute obedience to the Father.
Philippians 2:8 NKJV
“And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.”

God also made Jesus higher than all the kings of the earth.
Psalms 89:27 NKJV
“Also I will make him My firstborn,
The highest of the kings of the earth.”

God raised Jesus from the dead to the highest position.
Acts 2:36 NKJV
“Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.”

Christ’s leadership is founded on principles.
Love for Righteousness
Doing what is morally right and ensuring justice prevails. (Hebrews 1:9a)
Hatred for iniquity
Refusing to indulge in sin or any wrongdoing. Actively fighting against all forms of wickedness. (Hebrews 1:9a)
A superior anointing
God gave Christ a higher anointing above the anointing of all others. Christ has the “oil of joy” more than all His fellows. (Hebrews 1:9b)
Submission to His Father
Jesus humbled Himself to the point of death on the cross to fulfill the Father’s will and purpose to save mankind. (Philippians 2:8)

May you have Almighty God’s approval openly for all to see. May your God-given leadership in all areas prosper greatly, in Jesus’ name.
