Noah and the Flood: 3
By Rev. Robert Ampiah-Kwofi
Noah was unique because of his prophecy.
Around the time of his birth, the effect of the Lord’s curse on the ground was very severe.
Men were increasing upon the earth, and therefore food production was becoming more vital.
The effect of the curse was being felt strongly, as men toiled on their farms only to receive poor harvests.
Methuselah, the longest living human being on record, had a son called Lamech.
Lamech also had a son, when he was 182 years old.
Genesis 5:28 NKJV
“Lamech lived one hundred and eighty-two years, and had a son.”
A spirit of prophecy came upon Lamech at the naming ceremony of his son.
Genesis 5:29 NKJV
“And he called his name Noah, saying, “This one will comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands, because of the ground which the Lord has cursed.”
Lamech’s grandfather called Enoch, had been a major prophet, who walked with God.
Indeed Enoch was the first person to be raptured.
Genesis 5:24 NKJV
“And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.”
Enoch in his lifetime prophesied accurately about the Second Coming of Christ and the coming judgment of sinners.
Jude 1:14-15a NKJV
“Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds..”
Enoch the holy prophet was the father of Methuselah, who was the father of Lamech.
Evidently Lamech had received some of his grandfather’s prophetic unction.
Lamech prophesied that his new baby boy, would provide relief from the fruitless toil and labour, that men were enduring.
Noah means “rest.” Noah would bring rest and relief from the curse.
May you also be graced to identify and fulfill your prophetic destiny.
You are unstoppable by the grace of God.
You will produce more than what is expected, in Jesus’ name.
