Noah and the Flood 1
By Rev Robert Ampiah-Kwofi

The Bible records a universal flood that destroyed all men and animals.
Only Noah and his family, the male and female of various animals were saved through the ark.
Hebrews 11:7 NKJV
“By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.”

This event was extremely important because it marked a new beginning for the human race.
Originally all human beings descended from Adam, but after the flood, all the earth was repopulated by Noah and his sons.
Genesis 9:18 NKJV
“Now the sons of Noah who went out of the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And Ham was the father of Canaan.”

Noah’s boys repopulated the earth.
Genesis 9:19 NKJV
“These three were the sons of Noah, and from these the whole earth was populated.”

Some decades before the flood, the world was totally filled with indescribable evil.
Genesis 6:5 NIV
“The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time.”

God regretted creating mankind.
Genesis 6:6 NKJV
“And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.”

God determined to destroy man from the face of the earth.
Genesis 6:7 NKJV
“So the Lord said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.”

Only Noah prevented the complete eradication of the whole human race.
Genesis 6:8 NIV
“But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.”
