Morning Message of Motivation
The New Testament 10
By Rev. Robert Ampiah-Kwofi
God the Father Himself, was the greatest witness for Christ.
He testified of Christ.
John 5:37 NKJV
“And the Father Himself, who sent Me, has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form.”
The Father spoke audibly from heaven concerning Christ.
This heavenly confirmation from the Father came after Jesus had been baptized by John the Baptist.
John had initially objected to baptizing Christ.
Matthew 3:14 NKJV
“And John tried to prevent Him, saying, “I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?”
Jesus however insisted it was right for John to baptize Him.
Matthew 3:15 NKJV
“But Jesus answered and said to him, “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him.”
Jesus entered the water praying.
Luke 3:21 NKJV
“When all the people were baptized, it came to pass that Jesus also was baptized; and while He prayed, the heaven was opened.”
The Father then testified of His Son.
Luke 3:22 NKJV
“And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”
On the Mount of Transfiguration, the Father again testified of His Son.
Luke 9:35 NKJV
“And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!”
Peter later wrote about hearing this voice of God.
2 Peter 1:17 NKJV
“For He received from God the Father honour and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
Peter said this voice came in the holy mountain.
2 Peter 1:18 NKJV
“And we heard this voice which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain.”
The Father God greatly honoured and glorified Christ by speaking audibly from heaven to confirm who He was.
You are God’s child.
You are the apple of His eye.
May God glorify, honour and approve of you in all your endeavours, in Jesus’ name.
